The primary duty of the FARM Assistance program is to provide long-term, strategic financial analysis for Texas farmers and ranchers in effort to provide them with the information necessary to make better management decisions. These analyses, which are conducted on an individualized basis, provide producers with an independent assessment of the financial strengths and weaknesses of their current agricultural operation as well as provide and estimate of the risks inherent in their operations. Additionally, the FARM Assistance program enables participants to evaluate the impacts of alternative production activities on their operations and gauge how those impacts compare with current business activities.
